Happy Monday everyone! Since I am turning 18 years old on Wednesday (OMG!!!), I have decided to look back on my life and pinpoint the most important things I’ve learned throughout my 18 years. I hope you guys enjoy this post! I want you all to remember the important things in life and appreciate what you have experienced. It’s the little moments that make life so special and beautiful:)

Feliz lunes!

1) No diet is the best diet

Why stress out in life about a diet?! Go ahead! Eat that cupcake! I have come to realize that it is better to have a balanced diet than to only eat green and no sugar. As long as you eat equal amounts of fruits, veggies, and proteins, there is no reason to feel guilty about eating a slice of cake. There are other things to worry about than a diet.

Adelante! Come ese cupcake!

2) Exercise whenever you can!

If you have a chance, go and exercise! Of course we all have busy schedules, but we can always make time to work out here and there. You don’t have to be the most athletic person to go and take a class at the gym. I feel positive, mentally and physically, whenever I exercise. My favorite exercises include running, pilates, and yoga!

Mis ejercicios favoritos incluyen correr, pilates, y yoga!

3) Boys aren’t worth crying about

I know, we all wish we can have our Chuck Bass, but really, boys aren’t worth crying about. You are worth more than that! Your prince charming will come when it is meant to be.

4) There needs to be a balance between school and social life

Yes, grades are important, and you should always put 100% effort into all your school work, but you also need to have a balance between school and your social life. You don’t have to be locked up in the library every day. It is healthy to hang out for a few hours with your friends too!

5) Embrace your weirdness!!!

Why be normal?! Stay weird! Don’t let anyone tell you that you aren’t “cool enough” or that you don’t “fit in.” Embrace being different! We are all unique in various ways.

6) Family are your best friends

Spend time with your family…no one loves you or appreciates you than your family members!!

7) Always make time for just yourself

It’s great to go out and hang out with your friends, but it is also good to have “you time.” Take a few hours to watch a movie or buy a coffee just yourself.

8) Take lots of pictures!

Pictures, pictures, pictures! Wherever you go, take a quick pic. You don’t always have to Instagram it, but pictures serve as great memories.

Fotos, fotos, fotos!

9) The amount of likes you get on social media doesn’t define you

Social media is a great platform to share your thoughts and photos, but don’t let it influence your life in a negative way. Don’t focus on how many likes your selfie gets. Numbers don’t define you!

10) It doesn’t matter who you’re wearing, but it is how you wear it

The label of your clothing shouldn’t define you either. You can have a super stylish outfit from Forever 21! It is how you wear your clothes that make an outfit look good, not necessarily the designer.

11) Take a chance!

Don’t be afraid to take a chance! You will never know what you are capable of unless you try.

12) Money is NOT the object

Don’t let money drive you. Money isn’t what it is all about. Focus on being happy first!

No dejes que el dinero te influye. El dinero no es todo. Concentrate en ser feliz!

13) You don’t always have to have the last word

Whether it’s an argument with your parents or with a friend, you don’t always have to have the last word. It’s not worth it.

14) NO DRAMA!!!

Pick your battles. Some things just aren’t worth fighting for. Don’t focus on petty things. Forgive and forget!!

Escoge tus batallas. Unas cosas realmente no valen la pena. No te concentres en cosas tontas. Perdona y olvidate!

15) Travel whenever you have the opportunity

If you have the opportunity to travel, do it! Even if it is just to the closest city, traveling has become one of my favorite things. You learn so much about life and about different people this way.

16) When in doubt, smile and keep your head held high:)

I know, we all have our bad days. But remember, it is just a bad day, not a bad life! Keep your head held high and smile through the pain. It’ll make it go by faster.

Ten confianza y sonrie. Va pasar rapido.

17) It is always better to have 3 close, amazing friends than to have 30 “friends”

1-3 really close friends that you can practically call your siblings is way more valuable that having 30+ so-called “friends.” Surround yourself with people that truly love and care for you. Popularity isn’t what is the most important in life.

18) Appreciate every thing that has happened in your life, even the bad things!

Appreciate everything that you’ve lived through. Your experiences have shaped you into the person you are today. The good things helped you grow and the bad things made you stronger.

xoxo, B
